Manitou Construction Telehandlers at TM Campbell & Sons

With their combination of performance, reliability and technology, Manitou Construction Telehandlers have proven to be the ideal choice for TM Campbell & Sons across multiple residential building sites. Working to the high demands and tight timescales of housebuilding projects, TM Campbell require machines that deliver consistent performance, strong lifting capability and excellent manoeuvrability.
The company previously invested in a MT1840 Easy and was quickly impressed by its 18m lift height, 4,000kg lift capacity and chain driven boom design – which delivers greater speed. Operator comfort plays a key role in Manitou design, combined with superior all-round visibility which enhances both safety and productivity on site.
Tom Campbell explains, “visibility is great,” adding that the machines themselves “look terrific – they’re eye-catching.”
With a 3.94m turning circle, the MT1840 offers impressive manoeuvrability for a high-reach machine, allowing it to operate efficiently even in active residential developments. The MT1840 immediately demonstrated its value on site, making expanding the fleet a straightforward decision.
In November 2025, TM Campbell & Sons added a MT1335 Easy, recognising the benefits that Manitou machinery was bringing to day-to-day site productivity, safety and handling capability.
Describing the machine as “very user friendly and extremely versatile,” Tom also highlights its speed and hydraulic efficiency: “It’s a very quick machine – the new pump with greater flow rate makes it fast. Cycle times are really quick.”
With a 13m lift height and 3,500kg lift capacity, the MT1335 Easy is the ideal follow on machine to its 18m counterpart when higher-level structural work is complete.
Its compact design and 3.78m turning circle make it particularly suited to residential developments, where space can be restricted.
Tom notes that it is “really handy for getting in around the houses,” reinforcing its practicality in live housing environments.
Beyond the machines themselves, the aftersales support has also played a key role in the partnership.
“NLT have been great. The back-up is superb – no issues at all. We always find NLT very attentive.”

Quality First At John Dynes & Son Builders
John Dynes & Son, a long-standing customer and loyal supporter of the Manitou brand, has reinforced their commitment to quality by adding the advanced MRT2660 rotating
telehandler to their fleet through NLT.
Specialising in bespoke, residential builds across the Ards Peninsula, the company needed a standout machine on site.
The MRT2660 delivers 26m lift height, 6,000kg lift capacity, and 360-degree rotation, with remote control operation that reduces manpower and improves efficiency.
Upgrading from their previous model, the MRT2260 adds 5m reach and an additional 1 ton lift capacity, opening doors to more diverse and challenging projects.
For John Dynes & Son, the MRT2660 is “a vital part of the equipment armoury.”
Its ability to operate from a single position on site avoids unnecessary movement, minimising disruption, mess, and time-consuming repetitive repositioning – making it an indispensable
tool for high-end residential builds.
Standout features include the Vision+ Cab, which offers exceptional visibility, air conditioning, and a 12” LCD monitor. On-screen live load charts provide precise, real-time information, automatically adjusting for load and boom position to enhance safety and accuracy without manual calculation.

Easy stabilisation and precise boom movements across the pentagonal section ensure smooth, guided operation, even on complex sites. Another innovative feature is the E-RECO
attachment recognition system, which ensures attachments operate only within safe parameters. All adjustments are fully automated, delivering seamless, safe, and efficient operation.
John Dynes & Son continue to invest across the Manitou range, now covering the full spectrum of the brand’s capabilities.
Their most recent addition, the ULM415 compact telehandler, perfectly complements the larger MRT2660.
The rotating telehandler completes high-reach, heavy-lifting tasks, while the towable ULM415 provides manoeuvrability in tighter spaces.
Together, they offer a complete, versatile solution that maximises efficiency across all aspects of high-end residential construction.
MRT Vision + Range: Packed With Technology
Manitou’s MRT rotating telehandlers are designed to push the boundaries of innovation. The Vision+ range offers heights from 22m to 42m and lifting capacities up to 7,000kg.
Rotating telehandlers are versatile three-in-one machines that combine telehandler, crane and access platform functions. They feature exceptional visibility, reversing cameras, eco-friendly systems, dynamic load charts, and auto-levelling stabilisers.
Advanced features such as Speed Shift gearbox transmission, load-sensing hydraulics, and smart pumps enhance precision, safety, and productivity on the most demanding sites.

Carryduff Building Supplies Success With Hyundai
In a high-traffic builders merchant yard, performance is defined by pace and precision. For Carryduff Building Supplies, machinery is not simply a support function within that environment – it is fundamental to delivering the reliable, professional service their customers depend on.
Vehicles arrive steadily throughout the day, customers expect swift turnaround, and materials must be handled efficiently without compromising safety.
With a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, safety and operator comfort, Hyundai Construction Equipment has become a trusted brand within Carryduff’s growing fleet.

Having already experienced the durability and performance of Hyundai machinery – including their HX140AL crawler excavator – the decision to invest in the HL940A wheeled loader was a natural progression.
The team explain that their positive experience with Hyundai’s build quality, fuel efficiency and minimal downtime played a significant role in selecting the HL940A. The machines have consistently demonstrated robust construction and dependable performance under heavy daily use.
“We’ve been very impressed with Hyundai’s reliability. The machines are solid, dependable and built to handle heavy daily use. That gave us confidence that the HL940A
would deliver exactly what we needed.”
The loader now sits at the centre of Carryduff’s yard operations. Its role spans loading aggregates into customer vehicles, handling bulk materials, repositioning concrete products and managing
stock movement across the site.
Operators highlight the smooth, responsive control and impressively fast cycle times, particularly when loading stone and aggregates in quick succession. The articulated steering and balanced chassis allow the machine to move confidently between stock bays and loading zones, maintaining stability even under heavier loads.
Delivering measurable improvements in productivity, its load-sensing hydraulic system responds precisely to demand, ensuring power is delivered efficiently without unnecessary fuel consumption.
“Cycle times are quick and smooth. The hydraulics respond instantly, which speeds up loading without feeling aggressive. It’s efficient without sacrificing control.”
Combining strong acceleration with controlled handling, operators can maintain efficiency while manoeuvring within confined spaces. That balance between agility and stability has proven especially valuable during peak trading periods.
Operator comfort has also contributed to improved output. The cab layout is intuitive, featuring ergonomic joystick steering and a clear digital display that presents key machine data without
distraction. Excellent seating position and all-round visibility help reduce fatigue across long shifts, supporting consistent performance throughout the working day. The team note that the controls
feel natural and accessible, allowing operators to become confident quickly and remain focused on the task at hand.
Unlike isolated construction projects, the yard operates as a live commercial environment where pedestrians, delivery vehicles, forklifts and trade customers move simultaneously. In such conditions, precision and visibility are critical.
The HL940A’s clear-view bucket design significantly enhances forward sightlines during loading, while the integrated All-Around View Monitoring (AAVM) 360° camera system provides operators with a comprehensive view of their surroundings. Radar detection further strengthens on-site safety, delivering alerts that provide reassurance for both operators and management.
“We’re constantly working around customers, delivery drivers and other vehicles. The visibility from the cab and the 360° camera system makes a huge difference
– it gives operators real confidence.”
Carryduff Building Supplies emphasise the importance of working with Northern Lift Trucks. From initial consultation through to delivery and ongoing aftersales support – across both their Hyundai equipment and fleet of Manitou forklifts – NLT has provided responsive, knowledgeable service tailored to their operational needs.
“NLT understand our business and what we need from our equipment. The support has been excellent, and that gives us confidence to continue investing through them.”
The partnership illustrates how the right equipment, supported by strong local expertise, can deliver measurable improvements in safety, productivity and overall operational efficiency.
